Ashurath

Valthrune is not a kingdom that was built. It is a mass of land that was taken — lifted whole and set down inside the ring of a dead volcano, where the caldera walls now serve as its borders and its outermost defense.

At its heart sits the capital, a gothic seat of black stone raised against the inner wall, and above it the throne of a Dragon Lord who has outlasted every claim made against him. The fire under the island has never gone out. Neither has he.

The Empire keeps its own instruments. Among them is Kurgath, bone-white and Orcish, who does the work that does not get written down, and who is the reason certain names stopped appearing in the record.
